Ohio’s State Tests in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies (OST)

Each school district chooses a consecutive series of school days to administer state tests within specified windows, or periods of time.

FALL 2025 Test Administration windows

• Fall Grade 3 English language arts: Oct. 13-31, 2025 (Oct. 13 is Columbus Day)
  • Five consecutive school days, including makeups
• Dropout Prevention and Recovery: Sept. 15-Nov. 21, 2025
• Adult Testers: Oct. 20-Nov. 14, 2025
• Fall high school end-of-course: Dec. 1, 2025-Jan. 16, 2026
  • 15 consecutive school days, including makeups

Spring 2026 Test Administration Windows

• Dropout Prevention and Recovery: Jan. 19-March 27, 2026
• Adult Testers: Feb. 2-27, 2026
• Spring English language arts: March 23-April 24, 2026
  • 15 consecutive school days, including makeups
• Spring math/science/social studies: March 30-May 8, 2026
  • 15 consecutive school days, including makeups                             
• Family notification
  •  June 30, 2026

Summer 2026 Test Administration Windows

• Summer Grade 3 English language arts: June 22-26, 2026
• Summer high school end-of-course: June 22-July 3, 2026

Ohio English Language Proficiency Tests

• Screener: Aug. 5, 2025-June 26, 2026
• Assessment: Feb. 2-March 27, 2026
• Alternate Assessment: Feb. 2-March 27, 2026

Alternate Assessment for Students with the Most Significant Cognitive Disabilities (AASCD)

• Feb. 23-April 17, 2026
